Carolina Marin, the Rio 2016 Olympic champion and local favourite, defeated Neslihan Yigit of Turkey 21-14, 21-13 on Friday evening, extending her remarkable comeback from a knee injury that kept her out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In the final of 2022 European Badminton Championships , Marin will face Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland, who defeated Mia Blichfeldt in the other women’s singles semi-final.
