The former official was being investigated by the league for allegedly using a social media account to defend his choices on the court.
Eric Lewis net worth in 2023 and NBA salary as Blair Cuttlif burner account controversy drama goes viral
Eric Lewis, a well-known personality in the NBA officiating community, made a significant impact during the course of his successful career, which spanned 19 seasons from 2004 to 2023.
While Lewis had a lucrative career, he walked away from one of the league’s most senior officials. Consequently, Lewis surrendered a substantial yearly salary when he stepped down from the NBA.
Meanwhile, one query lingers among the fervour around Eric Lewis’ retirement: How much money did he make as an NBA official?
Eric Lewis’ Salary
A league official’s pay isn’t publicly published, although Lewis is reportedly paid about $550,000 a year, according to some estimates. Lewis earned among the highest salaries of any NBA official, as a referee’s annual salary can range from $180,000 to $550,000.
Eric Lewis’ Net Worth
For 18 seasons, Eric Lewis officiated NBA games, rising through the ranks and earning more money as he became one of the league’s most seasoned referees.
As a result, Lewis has reportedly acquired a $5 million net worth, which will enable him to live well now that he has resigned from his position and is likely to be unemployed for the foreseeable future.
Eric Lewis’ Social Media Scandal
A Twitter account with the handle “Blair Cuttlif” was actively looking for people who disapproved of Lewis’ game-related judgements throughout the 2022–23 NBA season. Fans started to believe the account was a hoax over time, with many speculating that Lewis himself was involved.
The NBA eventually paid attention to the story since it constantly favoured Lewis over the other NBA officials and was out of the ordinary.
Lewis denied being aware of the regular operations of the Twitter account. A now-deleted tweet from ‘Cuttlif’ highlighted that it was Mark Lewis, Eric Lewis’ brother, and apologised for placing the NBA referee in a difficult situation shortly after the probe was revealed.
The tweet wrote, “I’m sorry that I placed E in this situation, but this ain’t Watergate.”
After Lewis’ retirement, the account was subsequently cancelled, and the league’s investigation was finished. The true perpetrators of one of the recent social media mysteries will never be known.

The tweets started to circulate immediately after Lewis' final game, which was Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. He probably wasn't prepared for the plot twist.
