England Team Hotel In Qatar For The FIFA World Cup 2022 Built By Company Which Funds Al Qaeda
While the premises make for succulent viewing owing to the lavish sprawling expanse and meticulously designed property, the hotel comes with a problematic backdrop. It is built and paid for by Qatar’s Private Engineering Office, a company which was named as a source of secret money laundering and accused of sending millions of pounds to the Al-Qaeda to wage jihad.
The building of the hotel was completed by Generic Engineering Technologies, a company which lists the PEO as its main client with the hotel being listed as a government contract as well. Another electrical engineering subcontractor, Arena Engineering Consultants also operated alongside PEO.
In June 2021, a High Court lawsuit claimed that the PEO which is governed by the Qatari government sent money to the Al-Qaeda with large sums being diverted in the guise of fake construction contracts in Syria. The lawsuit also accused several notable names in the Qatari regime of sending gargantuan amounts of money to Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists and the terrorist Nusra front to support and spread terrorism.
England’s hotel is based in the fishing village of Al Wakrah which is ten miles away from the capital Doha.
