The San Marino Grand Prix (Italian: Gran Premio di San Marino) was a Formula One championship event held between 1981 and 2006 at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, near the Apennine Mountains in Italy.
It was named after neighboring San Marino since Monza had hosted an Italian Grand Prix. When Monza was being renovated in 1980, the 51st Italian Grand Prix was held in Imola.

Several racing vehicle manufacturers are based in the Imola region, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Minardi (later Toro Rosso and currently AlphaTauri), Dallara, and Stanguellini. Following World War II, the municipality embarked on a program to try to rebuild the local economy.
Four local motor racing fans suggested building a new route connecting existing public highways, which would be used by local auto manufacturers to test prototypes. In March 1950, construction began. Two years later, Enzo Ferrari brought a vehicle to the circuit and Alberto Ascari performed some demonstration laps.
It has now returned as the Imola Grand Prix with Max Verstappen becoming its first winner.
