Earl Thomas, a former University of Texas and NFL standout, has been charged with violating a court protective order by sending threatening communications to a lady regarding her and her children, according to police.

Thomas allegedly broke a court protective order by sending threatening communications to his ex-wife Nina Thomas regarding her and their children, according to police. According to court records obtained by the American-Statesman, Thomas was charged with a third-degree felony on April 27 after allegedly violating the protective order two or more times within a year.

Earl Thomas’s Threat Message and Relationship with Ex-Wife

According to the protection order, Thomas could only connect with the woman through a co-parenting phone app. According to the woman, Thomas refuses to download the app and instead contacts her via phone, arriving unannounced.

Thomas is accused of sending the woman frightening text messages about her and her children more recently. Thomas allegedly texted the woman on April 18 to inform her that he had obtained two weapons. “Waiting on hand and foot is why I’ll kick ur ass,” he texted later that day.

Earl Thomas’ wife, Nina Thomas, filed for divorce in November 2020. She was arrested by police in May 2020 after they said she pointed a gun at Thomas’ head after she found out he was cheating on her.

Earl Thomas Professional Career and NFL Journey

Thomas was drafted first overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was with the team for nine years until joining the Baltimore Ravens in 2019. Thomas got into an altercation with fellow Ravens safety Chuck Clark in August of 2020, and was finally cut after punching Clark during practise. Thomas recently claimed that he intended to return to the NFL after a two-year absence.
