According to a fresh update on the likely release date of Electronic Arts'(EA Sports) forthcoming college football game, the game is still on schedule to be released in around a year, know the 2023 release dat
The latest information on the game comes after a rumour from 2021.
EA Sports College Football Game Finally Gets 2023 Release Date
That stated EA was planning to release the EA Sports College Football game in July 2023. However, EA has yet to confirm a release date or even a more precise window for the game.
This week, reporter Matt Brown reported the latest news on the college football game, which included details uncovered about the project through FOIA requests aimed at seeing whatever the Collegiate Licensing Corporation was asking NCAA colleges that would likely be participating in the game.
The July 2023 release timeframe was obtained through the same FOIA requests made last year. Albeit the originating records were dated Jan 15, 2021, so things could have altered by now. Brown’s most recent FOIA requests were answered with documents dated February 25, 2022.
EA Sports Could Be Releasing Another Game Series By 2023
Which stated “game development is in full swing, and the launch goal remains summer of 2023.”
Brown did note, though, that he’d seen some visuals on social media suggesting that the game will be released in Winter 2023 instead. But based just on documents he’s seen and additional sources, July 2023 remained the target.
Brown said the Collegiate Licensing Corporation has already been asking these colleges to provide “stadium assets” for EA to use. Which include not only music but also chants, cheers, and other audio investments particular to the schools that will be in the game. According to the documents obtained through these FOIA requests.
He speculated that this meant EA was attempting to carefully replicate the stadium experiences seen at each institution. This should be a nice gesture to the many sports fans who are eagerly looking forward to the game.
“Nearly 120 schools, sports conferences, and bowl games” have “conceptually approved participation,” according to the most recent memo. EA Sports is still working on obtaining IP relevant to development. Such as “band songs, crowd yells, as well as other team-specific audio assets.”
Nonetheless, while fans wait for EA Sports’ first CFB game since 2014, these fresh additions will offer them something to look forward to for the next year.
