This prompts contemplation on the timeless theme of the chosen one, prompting reflection on other notable instances in science-fiction cinema and television.

As articulated by Douglas Adams, the author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, pondering one’s centrality in the universe is one matter, but having it validated by an ancient prophecy is an entirely different experience.

As his next anticipated film Dune Part 2 is all set for its release on March 1 (on IMAX, the Hollywood film is released a day in advance on February 29), here is the information about Dune Part 2 OTT release.

Dune 2 will likely be streamed on three to four months after its theatrical release but an official release date isn’t known yet.

Dune 1, was released simultaneously on OTT as well as in theatres. However, with Dune 2, that is not the case but the film will likely be streamed on HBO MAX. In India, Dune 2 will be available for streaming on Jio Cinema as Warner Bros had a partnership with Jio for their content.

Not every hero who emerges to save the day is necessarily a preordained chosen one. Contrary to the likes of Thor, these heroes embody the essence of heroic deeds. What sets them apart is that their destinies are foretold in advance, whether through prophecy or some unique form of selection.

Perhaps this is why the theme is so prevalent, especially in genres rich with allegory, such as science fiction and fantasy. While these genres often intertwine, drawing inspiration from works like Dune, we’ll focus primarily on the realm of science fiction.
