Akira Toriyama was born on April 5, 1955, in Nagoya, Japan. He got married to Yoshimi Katō in 1982 who assisted him in Doctor Slump. They have two children: a son named Sasuke (佐助) born on March 23, 1987, and a daughter born in October 1990.
