Who Is Dr Gazalla Amin?
Dr Gazalla Amin Noor is a well-known businesswoman who served as the secretary of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry for many years and died aged 59.
She created history as the first woman general secretary of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) when she entered into aromatic and medicinal plant planting and processing. This was a ground-breaking private-sector project in Kashmir’s lavender and rose oil industries.
She actively encouraged women’s entrepreneurship during her active business career and at KCCI and was a member of various global women’s entrepreneurship networks and academic forums. She was also a member of the Ziraat Times’ Advisory Committee.
Noor was the daughter of former Chief Secretary Noor Mohammaed and the niece of well-known lawyer Advocate Zaffar Shah, who hailed from Asham-Sumbal in the Bandipora district. She was a well-known personality who will be remembered for being a nice and caring individual.
