Javelin throw champion Neeraj Chopra will start off his Olympic title defence, and look for a second Diamond League title with the Doha Diamond League.
Following his training schedules in South Africa and Turkey, Chopra will look to start off his 2024 season with a bang. He will compete alongside fellow compatriot Kishore Kumar Jena, who will be making his Diamond League debut. Jena, has been on the rise ever since winning a silver at the Asian Games and qualifying for Paris.
Interestingly, while there is a lot of hype around Chopra and his 90m throw, the reigning champion has indicated that Jena could just beat him. Chopra will face stiff competition from defending Diamond League champion Czech Jakub Vadlejch. Vadlejch threw an amazing 87m this year. Another formidable competitor is former World Champion Anderson Peters of Grenada. Peters had the fifth-longest throw ever with 93.07m in 2022.
