In 2018, Jerry Blavat was named “Best Philly Icon” by Philadelphia Magazine. In Margate, he continued his radio job as the host of “Memories” and as the manager of the Geator Gold Radio Network. And, like other South Philadelphia music greats like ‘Wildwood Days’ vocalist Bobby Rydell, was painted into mural history.

Jerry Blavat reportedly died at 3:45 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023. In a hospice at Jefferson-Methodist Hospital, according to a family representative.

It is now known that myasthenia gravis and other complications from it played a role in his death. He is survived by his longtime companion Keely Stahl and his four kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Keely who is a writer or editor lived with Jerry for 30 years but there is no information of if they were married or not.

Jerry’s net worth stood at $1.5 million. His height is not known.
