During Friday’s quarterfinal matches of women’s singles event, Han Yue continued her superb run and qualified for semi-final stage but top-seed Akane Yamaguchi crashed out after a shocking loss against He Bingjiao.

2022 Denmark Open Badminton Women’s Singles Results Today, Score, Winners, & Upcoming Semi-final Draw

On Friday in quarterfinal of 2022 Denmark Open, reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi crashed out following an intense match against eighth-seed He Bingjiao. Despite losing first set by score of 14-21, He BJ won second-set 21-19 to force a decider, where she dominated top-seed Akane to win 21-11 and seal victory. After winning, Bingjiao moved on to the semi-final round, where she would compete against fellow countrywoman Han Yue, who won her quarterfinal tie against unseeded Pai Yu-Po by score of 21-17, 16-21, 21-16.

Following her win against second-seed Tai Tzu-ying in a different quarterfinal match, fifth-seed Ratchanok Intanon has qualified for semi-final stage, where she will clash against reigning Olympic champion Chen Yufei. Intanon won her clash against Tai after an intense battle that ended 10-21, 22-20, 21-16 but Chen Yufei defeated seventh-seed Pornpawee Chochuwong comfortably in straight sets via score of 21-17, 21-19.

After the elimination of reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi and second-seed Tai Tzu-ying, Olympic gold medalist Chen Yufei is overwhelming favorite to win title. Meanwhile unseeded Chinese shuttler Han Yue will aim to continue her fairy tale by winning against eighth-seed compatriot He Bingjiao. Points Award System

According to BWF Points System, winner of women’s singles competition will be awarded with 11,000 BWF points compared to 9,350 BWF points reward of runner-up. After successfully reaching semi-final stage, third-seeded Chen Yufei will give it her all to win the title and rise in BWF World Rankings since both Akane Yamaguchi & Tai Tzu-ying failed to qualify for semi-final stage and will miss out on valuable BWF points.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
