2022 Denmark Open Badminton Men’s Singles Results Today, Score, Winners, & Semi-final Draw
On Friday, quarterfinal matches of 2022 Denmark Open were played including Lakshya Sen vs Kodai Naroka and despite going into the match as favorite, Sen suffered straight-set loss by score of 17-21, 12-21. Following his dominant win, Naraoka has advanced to semi-final stage, where he will play unseeded Chinese star Shi Yuqi, who defeated fifth-seeded Chou Tien-Chen in straight sets by score of 25-23, 21-12.
Elsewhere, fourth-seeded Malaysian ace Lee Zii Jia survived stern challenge from eighth-seeded Jonatan Christie and won via score of 21-16, 18-21, 21-18 to qualify for semi-final stage. 2021 World Champion Loh Kean Yew will be next opponent for Lee Zii Jia after the Taiwanese shuttler managed biggest upset of tournament by knocking out in-form reigning world champion Viktor Axelsen by score of 21-17, 21-10.
After elimination of top-seed Viktor Axelsen, fourth-seeded Lee Zii Jia is considered favorite to win title ahead of his semi-final opponent Loh Kean Yew. Meanwhile, unseeded semi-finalists Shi Yuqi and Kodai Naraoka have both outdone their expectations but will aim to go even further and win title if possible. Surprisingly, no shuttler from host country Denmark has managed to qualify for semi-final in men’s singles event as Viktor Axelsen’s elimination meant end of medal hopes for Denmark.
