“Dare to Love Me” Kdrama has got INFINITE member Kim Myung-soo in the lead role with its release date now out
According to the latest update from KBS’s Instagram page, it’s set to hit screens in May. They dropped some still images on April 15, giving us a sneak peek into what to expect.
“Dare to Love Me” delves into the life of a young scholar named Shin Yun-bok, who’s deeply rooted in Confucian beliefs despite living in the 21st century. He’s what you might call a Millennial-Gen Z hybrid, blending traditional wisdom with modern sensibilities. Yun-bok is genuinely kind to people but he’s also reserved and finds it hard to trust others and their feelings. Because of this, he tends to set boundaries pretty quickly.

“Dare to Love Me” plot
The story of “Dare to Love Me” is based on a popular Naver webtoon called “Treat Me Carelessly,” created by author Jeong Seon-woo. It’s a romantic comedy that follows the journey of Shin Yun-bok, a guy who’s all about those traditional Confucian values, living a pretty strict life. Then there’s his art teacher, Kim Hong-do, played by Lee Yoo-young, who’s got this wild, honest personality.
It basically has a clash of personalities with Yun-bok being all about order and Hong-do being the complete opposite. Kim Myung-soo’s character Shin Yun-bok will bw described as an “MZ Confucian boy.” They also call him an “iron-clad scholar who cannot be approached without permission.” So, it seems like Yun-bok’s got this serious, no-nonsense vibe about him. And then there’s a hint that whoever’s saying this might just end up falling in love with him.

This drama is written by Park Yu-mi and directed by Director Jang Yang-ho. Director Jang is known for his work on the 2021 drama “Mr. Queen: The Bamboo Forest,” which starred Shin Hye-sun and Kim Jung-hyun.
“Dare to Love Me,” which used to go by the name of the webtoon “Treat Me Carelessly,” is set to premiere on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 10:10 pm Korean Standard Time (or 6:40 pm Indian Standard Time). You can catch it on the South Korean network KBS2 TV, and it’ll be airing every Monday and Tuesday with episode 2 releasing on May 14.
