He was born on November 24, 1982, in Delhi, India. His father’s name is SM Mishra, who was employed in the Indian Railways, whereas his mother’s name is Chandrakala Mishra, who is a homemaker. He also has six siblings: three brothers, including Sanjay Mishra, and three sisters.

In 2008, Amit Mishra made his Test debut, taking five wickets for 71 runs in Australia’s first innings to become the match’s highest wicket-taker. In limited-overs cricket, he made his one-day international debut in 2003 and played in the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa.
Mishra’s success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is also noteworthy. He is the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, after Lasith Malinga and Dwayne Bravo, and the first player to ever score three hat-tricks.
