About Priyadarshan
Priyadarshan is an Indian screenwriter and director who work in Hindi as well as Malayalam movies. He began his career in the 1980s with Malayalam films. Later on, in the 2000s he moved to Bollywood and made a number of hit Hindi language movies.
He hails from Thiruvananthapuram, India. Priyadarshan’s most notable movies include Vandanam, Kilukkam, Kala Pani, Chandralekha, Chithram, Kottunnu, Thalavattam, Abhimanyu, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam.
In 2012, he was awarded the Padma Shri award for his contribution to Hindi as well as Malayalam movies. Priyadarshan developed an interest in films because of director P. Venu. His father was a librarian so he started reading books and got inspired by stories. He has directed more than 95 films to date
