Dominguéz calls this a “historical figure for sports in South America.” This increase in prizes won’t be free, though. The clubs will have to earn it on the field of play, with a new system of giving prizes based on “sports merit.”

A million dollars has also been approved for each Member Association. This is to help support and improve local tournaments and give that money to their winning teams.

How much the Cups will cost in 2023?

Under the slogan “reinvesting in football what football generates,” Conmebol has decided to give a lot more money to the clubs and players who qualify for the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
