The Copa America 2024 is all set to take place and to allocate a record $108 million in participation fees and prize money to the participating teams

For the unversed, the Copa America 2024 is taking place from June 20 to July 15 in the United States & 16 teams will compete in 32 matches, vying for the coveted trophy.

Every team will be given a $3 million participation fee for participating in the CONMEBOL and Concacaf tournament, with the rest of the $60 million being designated as prize money.

The amount of prize money is over doubled from the $29m given in 2021, when Argentina, the current champions, won $9.7m for defeating Brazil 1-0 in the final.

Teams eliminated in the quarter-finals will be given an extra $3 million each in prize money. The team in fourth place will get $6m, the team in third place will take home $7.5m, and the team in second place will be awarded $10.5m.

Copa America 2024 Champions Prize Money

The champion of Copa America 2024 will receive an unprecedented $24m cash prize. The competition will also pay for the teams’ expenses for accommodations, flights, and transportation within 14 cities in the United States

This is the second occasion that the nation has organized the competition, following its previous hosting of the Copa America Centenario in 2016.

Each team will receive three million dollars.
Quarter-final matches: $3 million
Fourth position: $6 million
The prize for third place is $7.5 million.
Second place: $10.5 million
Victor: $24 million

Games will be played in Texas, Georgia, California, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, and Florida before the final match at Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium on July 15.

Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, is aiming for their 16th title to surpass Uruguay and become the most successful team in the competition’s history.

Both countries in South America have each been victorious in 15 tournaments since the inception of the competition in 1916.
