Here is the list of highest paid head coaches in the upcoming 2024 Copa America tournament 

The 48th edition of the much awaited Copa America is all set to begin soon in the middle of the ongoing Euro 2024. CONCACAF is a co-organizer of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in the USA. 

The United States will host the competition for the second time, having hosted the Copa América Centenario in 2016; will kick off from tomorrow. 

In celebration of the lead-up to the United States’ hosting of the 2026 World Cup, the competition will unite North and South America for a unique CONMEBOL continental championship.

Marcelo Bielsa ($4 million) 

Marcelo Bielsa of Uruguay tops the list of the highest paid managers in Copa America right now with $4 million of yearly income. 

Under Bielsa, Uruguay’s roster has been given a whole new lease on life as younger players have been brought in to replace the more seasoned players who have proven to be so vital in previous years. It is to be seen how it works here in the tournament. 

Dorival Junior ($4 million) 

Dorival Junior is tied with the Brazilian manager who also makes around $4 million early.

The manager has announced a strong squad including the attacking combinations of Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Gabriel Martinelli, and Raphinha; in the midfield, Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta, and Douglas Luiz; and on defense, Marquinhos, Eder Militao, and Gabriel.

Ricardo Gareca ($3.7 million) 

Ricardo Gareca is currently third in the list with 3.7 million income. The 66-year-old is currently leading the Chile football national team. 

With Argentina, Canada, and Peru in their group, just qualifying for the knockout stages might be a positive step for Chile as the national football team transitions to a new era. 

Lionel Scaloni ($2.6 million)

World Cup winner Lionel Scaloni is fourth in the list with $2.6 million. The 46-year-old recently announced the squad for the upcoming Copa America tournament which included some highly experienced players. 

Gregg Berhalter ($2.2 million) 

Gregg Berhalter is fifth with $2.2 million. He is currently leading the United States men’s national soccer team. The 50-year-old head coach is the first one from the country’s history to take part in the FIFA World Cup.
