Mexico have ever since gone onto assert that while Lozano is out of the hospital, the player will miss the remainder of the tournament owing to the calamitous crash. Lozano has hyperextended his neck and will require neurological evaluation with a plastic surgeon operating on the mammoth gash under his left eye.

Lozano is said to require atleast 4-6 weeks to recover from his current plight.

“It was a moment of despair because we saw Lozano lying on the grass and from the bench we could not see what he had,” assistant manager Jorge Theiler said.

Lozano who has scored on 14 occasions for Mexico in 48 ties will be a colossal miss for his country. The player had gone onto net on 11 occasions for Napoli last season, a campaign which finally saw him unlock his true potential in the Serie A.

Mexico will face a behemoth task as they try to compensate for the services of the departed Lozano. The player leaves a massive void in the team ahead of the country’s impending matchup with Guatemala on Wednesday.
