The 2022 Commonwealth Games saw Singapore women’s table tennis team continue their amazing run and emerge as gold medal winners, we take a look at the final results today, medal winners, and all other details
After defeating Malaysia 3-0 in the championship match on Monday, Singapore is once again the women’s table tennis team winner of the Commonwealth Games. Since women’s team competition was added to the Games schedule in 2002, Singapore have advanced to every final; however, they were defeated by India in the 2018 final.

After giving the team a scare in the opening doubles match, Zeng Jian and Zhou Jingyi defeated Karen Lyne and Ho Ying 3-1 (7-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-5) to help the squad calm down. Between the Singaporean and Malaysian contingents of spectators, a small cheering contest also started. The greatest cheers, however, came from the Singaporeans after Feng Tianwei defeated Alice Chang 3-0 (11-9, 11-1, 11-7) and Zeng defeated Ho 3-1 (11-3, 11-4, 8-11, 11-5) to reclaim Singapore’s title as the Commonwealth’s top women’s table tennis team.
Malaysia, who were considered underdogs, also deserves praise for their never-give-up spirit because they scored heart-stopping comeback victories 3-2 over Wales and India on their way to the championship game. Singapore, though, proved they are a different breed by reenacting the 2014 final and completing another sweep.
In the bronze medal match, Australia defeated Wales 3-0 in to win bronze. Meanwhile, Indian Women’s team failed to retain their title after losing to Malaysia in the quarterfinal and will look to upcoming singles and doubles event in Table Tennis for medals.
