Despite his advanced age, 40-year-old Sharath Kamal defeated Paul Drinkhall in the Birmingham 2022 semifinals with a masterful performance. The Indian paddler triumphed with a score of 4-2 (11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8). On Monday, 4:30PM IST, the table tennis gold medal match between Sharath Kamal and Liam Pitchford is slated to begin.

Meanwhile, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran will face off against Paul Drinkhall of England for the bronze medal prior to the final. G Sathiyan was defeated 4-1 by Liam Pitchford in the semifinals (11-5, 4-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-9).
