The 2022 Commonwealth Games’ Opening Ceremony, which will feature representatives from all 72 Commonwealth nations, will take place at Alexander Stadium on July 28, 2022. The closing ceremony is expected to take place at Alexander Stadium on August 8, 2022, with participation from all 72 participating nations.

2022 Commonwealth Games Opening & Closing Ceremony Details, Date, And Time

A multisport international competition for Commonwealth nations, the 2022 Commonwealth Games will take place in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8, 2022. The West Midlands region will play host to 15 sites for Birmingham 2022, seven of which, including the athletics stadium and the marathon course, are in Birmingham. The National Exhibition Centre complex, which is part of the city’s outskirts in neighboring Solihull, will host the Games at the NEC Arena in addition to its exhibition halls.

On Thursday, July 28, the Commonwealth Games will get underway. The opening ceremony will take place in Birmingham’s Alexandra Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 7 o’clock. The first athletic events are slated to start on Friday, July 29, and continue until Monday, August 8.

The first round of tickets for the games this summer went on sale on April 19 and are still available at Birmingham2022.com. Each event has a maximum of five categories. The most expensive and closest to the action are tickets in category A. Tickets in category E are less expensive and farther away.

2022 Commonwealth Games List of Broadcasters, Panel of Experts, And How to Watch Live Stream & Highlights 

Over 200 hours of the action from the games will be broadcast by the BBC across as many as 11 livestreams. Olympic gold medalists Michael Johnson, Denise Lewis, and Jessica Ennis-Hill will all be on the expert panel of commentators covering athletics, along with Commonwealth gold medalists Max Whitlock and Beth Tweedle.

Mark Foster, Rebecca Adlington, Ellie Simmons, Sir Chris Hoy, and Ama Agbeze are a few other ex-athletes who will be covering the games. Hazel Irvine, Clare Balding, Gabby Logan, Jason Mohmmad, Holly Hamiliton, and Ayo Akinwolere will provide daily live TV coverage from the studio located at Centenary Square in Birmingham.

JJ Chalmers and Isa Guha will deliver daily game highlights on BBC One. BBC Radio 5 Live, 5 Live Sports Extra, and BBC Sounds will all provide live radio coverage of the event.
