2022 Commonwealth Games Mixed Team Badminton Latest Results, Quarterfinal Schedule, Groups & Standings
The Indian shuttlers had a fantastic day on Day 2 as they defeated the Sri Lankan team first with a convincing 5-0 victory to complete their second straight tournament sweep before defeating the Australians 4-1 to cap the day. Elsewhere, Malaysia easily defeated South Africa 5-0 in their final Group Four game and advanced to the knockout round of the mixed team competition at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games as group winner.
B. Sumeeth Reddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Tran Hoang Pham and Jack Yu 21-16, 21-19 in the men’s doubles match to give India an unbeatable 3-0 lead against Australia. In the women’s doubles match, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand were upset by Hsuan-Yu Wendy Chen and Gronya Somerville 21-13, 21-19, giving Australia a small victory in a losing effort. After that, India won the final match of the competition, with B. Sumeeth Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa defeating Ying Xiang Lin and Gronya Somerville 21-14, 21-11 to round off the day.
