On Thursday, round of 32 matches were played in women’s singles badminton at Commonwealth Games and India had a flawless day as both PV Sindhu and Aakarshi Kashyap cleared their first hurdle and advanced to the round of 16. India’s top shuttler PV Sindhu Sindhu easily defeated Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq in a straight game to go to the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s singles competition. Sindhu outwitted the Madives shuttler without using an aggressive strategy thanks to her all-around talent. In the opening set, she primarily relied on her sneaky drops shots to score points.
In the pre-quarterfinal, PV Sindhu will face Husina Kobigabe while Aakarshi Kashyap will take on Eva Kattirtzi. The Indian shuttlers are expected to easily clear the round of 16 matches and advance to the quarterfinal.
