For those unversed, last chapter of the series started with Chan Hajin as he has performed some magic on the bamboo, and after a little time, he declares that it is ready, and the sap inside the Spiritual Bamboo is now the greatest elixir available.

With this, he invites Dongpil to drink it, but he declines because he cannot do it in front of his Yong Lord.
However, Chan Hajin asks him if he isn’t weary of being so humble all the time, and suggests that he drink it. Dongpil claims that it is not like that, and that it is only appropriate that Chan Hajin be the only one to drink the sap, as he obtained it without his assistance.
In another scene we witnessed Chan Hajin asks him whether he’ll remain like that till the end and notes that they’ve formed a link, so he shouldn’t be so chilly. He claims that he has saved his life enough times to deserve this, but it is he who should feel horrible; he should offer him everything, but he is not.
Furthermore, Chan Hajin claims that remaining in such a bad situation is his fault, and that is why he has worked so hard, and he means it. Dongpil, on the other hand, promises he will guard him till his task is completed; no threat will be able to get their hands on him unless they first go over his dead body.
Along with that, he states that even once his task is completed, he would never forget the immense favour he has bestowed upon him till the day he dies. Chan Hajin, frustrated, takes the spiritual bamboo and compels him to drink it. He requests that he swallow it because he wants to see his Adam’s apple move.
