“Ch*kke bh*sde tkmc,” Shivam Dube and wife Anjum Khan abused on Instagram by CSK and MS Dhoni fans

Shivam Dube turned off the comments on his Instagram page after he was abused by CSK fans

It seems like some of the CSK fans have not digested their team’s IPL exit yet as the fans have started harshly criticising the all-rounder and left hateful comments on social media in response to his most recent Instagram post.

At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) supporters went through a range of emotions when their team played Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a pivotal 2024 IPL match. Though expectations were high, the Yellow Army was sadly in for a big letdown.

Some fans have not forgotten the loss yet

CSK won the toss and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad chose to bowl first to start the day. This choice, though, was swiftly regretted as RCB’s opening pair, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, started a merciless attack on the CSK bowlers. The pair set the tone for an intimidating total of 218 runs on the board.

Gaikwad was out for a golden duck on the opening ball, giving CSK’s chase the worst possible start. The team lost wickets frequently after this early blow, and they never fully bounced back. With the CSK batting lineup collapsing, all eyes were on their star all-rounder Shivam Dube, who had been a constant for the team all season.

Dube, who is renowned for his six-hitting ability, was given the responsibility of controlling the innings and leading CSK to victory. Unfortunately, luck was not in his favour on the D-day. Dube tried his best, but could not find his rhythm against a well-organized RCB bowling attack. His dismissal for a pitiful 7 runs off 15 balls only made the middle order of CSK come under more and more strain.

CSK’s chances diminished as the run rate increased, and even with a heroic effort from the bottom middle order, the five times IPL champion failed to win the match due to which they could not qualify for the playoffs.

Here are the comments:

Fans of the Chennai Super Kings were devastated by this heartbreaking defeat, and regrettably, some of their anguish was expressed on social media. Shivam Dube, who had before expressed gratitude for the fans’ persistent support, was the target of unjustified criticism and even derogatory remarks. Dube’s thank-you Instagram post for the fans’ support and the team’s work turned into a spark for a backlash.
