In the Open and Women’s divisions of the 44th Chess Olympiad on Saturday, all six Indian teams easily defeated their opponents. and in a surprising turn of events, India 2 has moved ahead of India 1 after winning all 8 games in first two round. In the tournament, more top matchups are anticipated to occur in Round 3 of the Olympics on Sunday. Georgia vs USA could result in Jobava-Caruana, Sweden vs Netherlands could result in Grandelius-Giri, and Czech Republic vs Canada could result in Navara-Hansen.

Chess Olympiad 2022 Format, Schedule, Date, Time, Trophy, And Other Details
The Swiss system is being used to conduct the competition. Every game will have a time limit of 90 minutes, which will be divided into 30 second increments every 40 moves and an additional 30 minutes after the 40th move. While the game is still in progress, a player may ask for a draw at any point.
Over the course of 11 rounds, each team will face off against another team in a four-on-four contest. Each team may submit one name for the reserve roster. Teams will be rated based on the match points they have accumulated throughout each round. When two or more teams have the same number of match points, the tie-breaker will be decided by a variety of variables.
The first round of the competition began on July 29 and culminate with the championship round on August 9. All rounds will begin at 15:00 IST, with the exception of the championship round, which will begin at 10:00 IST. Following the sixth round, August 4 will be the lone rest day for the competition.

Chess Olympiad 2022 Day 2 Events, Results, Winners, And Day 3 Schedule
In Round 2 of the Chennai Chess Olympiad, Magnus Carlsen overcame Georg Meier in an exhausting 80-move match and helped Norway thrash Uruguay 4-0. Meanwhile, top-seeded USA won against Paraguay by barest of margins and with a score of 2.5-1.5. The competition also saw its first upsets, with 73rd seeds Zambia shocking 27th seeds Denmark and 17th seeds Croatia being destroyed by Bulgaria 3.5-0.5. In other surprises, Tajikistan overcame Kazakhstan and Peru defeated Guatemala. Malaysia and Slovakia tied, while Poh Yu Tian, 13, one of the youngest competitors, defeated Lubomir Ftacnik, one of the oldest.
At the 44th Chess Olympiad on Saturday, all three of the Indian men’s teams won their respective rounds. Team B crushed Estonia with a score of 4-0, while Team A overcame Moldova with a score of 3.5-0.5. Later, Team C defeated Mexico with a score of 2.5 to 1.5. All three of the Indian women’s teams, however, could not achieve the anticipated perfect records in their victories.
For second round of matches, Team A rested its main player Vidit Gujrathi, while Harikrishna, who had rested on the first day, began with a victory. IM Andrei Macovei managed to hold Arjun Erigaisi to a draw while Sasikiran and S L Narayanan both won games. The fans’ favourite team, Team B, saw victories from D Gukesh, R Praggnanandha, B Adhiban, and Raunak Sadhwani, while Nihal Sarin took a day off.
In the second round of the women’s division, India A Team defeated Argentina 3.5-0.5 thanks to victories from R Vaishali, Tania Sachdev, and Bhakti Kulkarni. Vantika Agrawal, Soumya Swaminathan, and Mary Ann Gomes all scored victories as India B Team trounced Latvia 3.5-0.5. Eesha Karavade and P V Nandhidhaa won matches for the India C Team but Pratyusha Bodda and Vasnawala Vishwa were held to draws as they defeated Singapore 3-1.
