Chess Olympiad 2022 Format, Schedule, Date, Time, Trophy, And Other Details

The Swiss system is being used to conduct the competition. Every game will have a time limit of 90 minutes, which will be divided into 30 second increments every 40 moves and an additional 30 minutes after the 40th move. While the game is still in progress, a player may ask for a draw at any point.

Over the course of 11 rounds, each team will face off against another team in a four-on-four contest. Each team may submit one name for the reserve roster. Teams will be rated based on the match points they have accumulated throughout each round. When two or more teams have the same number of match points, the tie-breaker will be decided by a variety of variables.

The first round of the competition began on July 29 and culminate with the championship round on August 9. All rounds will begin at 15:00 IST, with the exception of the championship round, which will begin at 10:00 IST. Following the sixth round, August 4 will be the lone rest day for the competition.

Team B crushed Estonia with a score of 4-0, while Team A overcame Moldova with a score of 3.5-0.5. Later, Team C defeated Mexico with a score of 2.5 to 1.5. All three of the Indian women’s teams, however, could not achieve the anticipated perfect records in their victories.

For second round of matches, Team A rested its main player Vidit Gujrathi, while Harikrishna, who had rested on the first day, began with a victory.
