In their respective semifinal ties at 2022 Chess.com Global Championship on Friday against GMs Hikaru Nakamura and Nihal Sarin, GMs Wesley So and Anish Giri came close to taking the lead but were both held to 2-2 draw thanks to tenacious defending from their rivals.
