The Chelsea Football Club Supporters Trust is a non-profit organisation that welcomes all Chelsea Football Club supporters from across the world to join, know its statement and membership
The trust is totally unaffiliated with Chelsea Football Club, yet they are trying to maintain a favourable relationship with the club
The annual board elections and regular meetings are held on the democratic premise of one member, one vote.
It is committed to proactive and mutually productive engagement with the club and other stakeholders, such as the local community, local council, relevant media, and other fan organisations.
Chelsea Supporters Trust Board, What Does It Do, Who Are Its Members, Statement And Membership
Aims
The Chelsea FC Supporters Trust seeks to accomplish the following goals:
- Encourage Chelsea Football Club’s board of directors to consider the interests of all supporters (both domestic and international) as well as the local community (companies, citizens, local governments, and so on) when making decisions that affect them;
- To engage with all key stakeholders on areas of interest and concern to Chelsea supporters in a proactive and professional manner;
- Serve as a reliable medium of contact between the team and its fans;
- Build on the work of the Fans Forum in allowing supporters to discuss topics of concern with the club;
- Work with Supporters Direct and other Supporters Trusts on issues such as ticket costs and kick-off times that affect all clubs;
- Collaboration with existing fans groups, websites, fanzines, podcasts, and so on without detracting from their independence.
Objectives for the Short Term
- Work in accordance with the Trust’s constitution, run a successful membership drive, and collaborate as a Board;
- Maintain communication with club authorities (especially the Supporters Liaison Officer) and other stakeholders.
- Continue to take part in the Fans Forum (which began in the 2013/14 season);
- Create a platform for successful membership communication.
Objectives for the Medium and Long Term
- Improve the Supporters Liaison Officer’s current effective working relationship and urge for this to be a stand-alone position;
- Join as many Chelsea supporters’ groups, fanzines, websites, blogs, podcasts, and other organisations as feasible;
- Improve two-way communication for the benefit of fans and the club, as well as effective connections with other stakeholders, such as the local community;
- Promote the purchase of CPO shares by supporters;
- On the CPO board, there should be an elected supporter’s representative;
- Chelsea Football Club should have an elected supporters’ representative on its board of directors (a very long-term objective).
