The historic event took place at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, when the mission was launched precisely at 2.35 p.m. IST on Friday, July 14. This mission seeks to demonstrate a variety of capabilities while building on the accomplishments of its predecessor, Chandrayaan-2.
This lunar expedition by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) comes four years after their previous effort to climb the moon, the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which crashed owing to a software error.
Scientists want to direct the spacecraft to the moon’s orbit, carry out a soft landing on the lunar surface using a lander, and release a rover that will carry out in-depth analyses of the moon’s geology.
Notably, Chayan Dutta, a Tezpur University graduate who is in charge of Chandrayaan-3’s launch control operations when it lifts off on Friday, July 14, 2023, has also become the talk of the town. Due to this, many people are trying to learn more about him. So, here’s what we know about him:

Chayan Dutta is currently employed with the Department of Space, UR Rao Satellite Centre, as a Scientist/Engineer-G. He has been given the responsibility of managing the Command and Data Handling subsystem, which serves as the orbiter’s “brains” and regulates all spacecraft operations, due to his significant knowledge and experience in the field.
He is notably in charge of launch control operations for the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which represents India’s ongoing attempts to investigate the mysteries of the moon. The crucial activities involved in launch control operations include making sure the spacecraft is operating properly, keeping an eye on the telemetry data, and issuing the required orders.
