Interesting to note that during the 1994-95 season, the Premier League was to be reduced to twenty teams from twenty-two. Hence there were four relegation places in the Premier League and in Division One (EFL Championship) and only two promotion places in Division One and Division Two, therefore the runners-up didn’t earn automatic promotion.
It might seem a shocker to many modern-era Premier League fans to witness the name of Manchester city on this league as well. But as it stands, the Blues have had a tremendous turn-around to be proclaimed as the best English Club after winning numerous PL Championship in the previous decade.
