Bisha K. Ali created the new Ms. Marvel mini-series for Disney Plus. The series follows Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, as she discovers her new powers, which transform her into Ms. Marvel. The mini-series contains about six episodes, and the main character will also appear in the upcoming movie The Marvels, led by Captain Marvel.
The debated post-credits scene
The post-credit scene at the end of the series shows Kamala lying on her bed. She is wearing her new Ms. Marvel suit when the bracelet starts to pulsate with cosmic energy.
Kamala, who is startled by the energy, stands up before she gets pulled into her closet door. An unknown force pulls Kamala and she disappears, leaving Captain Marvel to emerge from the debris. Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, is clearly confused by what’s just happened. She takes a minute to observe the room and sees many posters of herself on Kamala’s bedroom walls.

This confusing post-credit scene left many viewers with the question, “Can Ms. Marvel shapeshift?”
Can Ms. Marvel shapeshift?
Yes, she can. Well, at least she can in the comic books. In the Marvel Comics, Kamala Khan has the ability to shapeshift, and the post-credit scene in the show seems to tease that idea.
Comic book fans will remember that in the first ever issue of Ms. Marvel, Kamala does in fact shapeshift. Kamala shapeshifts into her favourite superhero, Captain Marvel, because that’s who she believes she wants to be.

While the post-credit scene is a reference to this iconic comic book moment, is it true for the live adaptation? Can Ms. Marvel shapeshift in the movies as well?
Series creator Bisha K. Ali confirmed to Deadline that the person in Kamala’s bedroom is Carol Danvers:
“That is Carol Danvers in Kamala’s bedroom.” What you’re seeing is exactly what you think you’re seeing. That’s her, there’s no magic there. All I can say beyond that is to enjoy the movie in one year’s time. “
This would mean that Kamala actually swapped places with Captain Marvel, not shapeshifting. So, can Ms. Marvel shapeshift? Sadly, no. But she sure has other cool powers.
Is Kamala missing?
The explanation also means that Kamala’s current whereabouts are unknown. Kamala Khan’s whereabouts are set to be addressed in the upcoming film The Marvels. The movie is due for release on July 28, 2023.
The Marvels, which will serve as a sequel to Captain Marvel, will see the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. Teyonah Parris and Samuel L. Jackson as Monica Rambeau as Nick Fury will rejoin Larson in the sequel.
Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan will also hold a hefty role in the Captain Marvel sequel, and Lashana Lynch’s Maria Rambeau has also been pushed to appear.
