2023 BWF World Championships singles & doubles category quarterfinal results, draw, & performance of Indian shuttlers
With his resounding victory against the reigning world champion Viktor Axelsen, Indian ace HS Prannoy has qualified for the semi-final of the 2023 BWF World Championships. Despite losing the first-set, Prannoy kept his cool and produced a remarkable recovery before emerging victorious by score of 21-13, 15-21, 16-21. It is confirmed that Prannoy will face-off against in-form Thai shuttler Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the semi-final. Meanwhile, Kodai Naraoka will play against Dane shuttler Antonsen in the other semi-final.
Elsewhere in the women’s singles category, top-seed An Se-young won her quarterfinal tie against Nozomi Okuhara by score of 16-21, 21-10, 21-11 to reach the semi-final stage. Similarly, the reigning women’s singles champion Akane Yamaguchi defeated Indonesian ace Mariska Tunjung 21-16, 21-18 to seal his berth in the next round. In the semi-final, An Se-young will clash against the reigning Olympic champion Chen Yufei and Akane Yamaguchi will play versus former world champion Carolina Marin.
