The Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium is hosting the women’s singles competition for the 2022 BWF World Championships from August 22 to August 28, 2022. Despite Saina Nehwal’s elimination from third round, Indian fans can look forward to the upcoming knockout matches as stars like Carolina Marin, Akane Yamaguchi, and Tai Tzu-ying will be in action.

2022 BWF World Championships Women’s Singles Round of 16 Results, Score, And Winners
Saina Nehwal, a former Olympic bronze medalist, was eliminated from the BWF World Championships after losing to Busanan Ongbamrungphan in a fiercely contested women’s singles pre-quarterfinal match. The 32-year-old lost to her Thai opponent with a score of 17-21, 21-16, 13-21 after a nail-biting match.
Ongbamrungphan put pressure on Saina right away and grabbed an early 11-3 lead in the first set. The two-time World Championship medalist closed down the gap to two points, but Ongbamrungphan maintained her composure to win the opening set. Saina played with confidence in the second set and won it 21-16 to force the game to a decider. However, Saina failed to maintain her composure and lost the final set with a score of 13-21 and surrendered the game,
