Indian women’s doubles duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Reddy N. Sikki bowed out from the second round of 2022 BWF World Championships on Wednesday after falling to top-seeded duo of Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan of China.

The 2022 BWF World Championships doubles category competition will take place from August 22 to August 28 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. All competitors will be encouraged to perform well and earn the coveted gold medal by the competition’s distinguished past and exceptional reputation.
August 25: Third-round matches will begin (10:00 AM Local Time)
26th August: Quarterfinals begin (10:00 AM Local Time)
August 27: Semi-finals begin (10:00 AM Local Time)
28th August: Finals begin (3:00 PM Local Time)
2022 BWF World Championships Doubles Category Second Round Results, India Score, And Winners
Ponnappa and Sikki, who were playing on court 1, lost the game in straight sets by a score of 15-21, 10-21. The Indian duo lacked the Chinese duo’s level of focus and shot-making, and they appeared out of sorts. Meanwhile, the South Korean duo of Lee So-hee & Shin Seung Chan defeated Pooja Santosh & Sanjana Dandu in another women’s doubles match on court 3 with a score of 21-15, 21-7.
At the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, sixth-seeded Aaron-Wooi Yik defeated Taiwan’s Lu Ching Yao-Yang Po Han 22-20, 21-18, surviving to fight another day. For a place in the quarterfinal, they will compete against the 11th seeded fellow Malaysian duo of Goh Sze Fei & Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, who defeated Joshua Magee & Paul Reynolds of Ireland with a score of 21-13, 21-12.
Yew Sin & Ee Yi, ranked 10th in the world, lost to Singapore’s Terry Hee & Loh Kean Hean in straight sets with a score of 22-20, 22-20. In the third round, Terry & Kean Hean will face Indian duo of M.R. Arjun & Dhruv Kapila, who upset eighth-seeded Kim Astrup & Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark in straight sets with a score of 21-17, 21-16.
