The women’s singles event for the 2022 BWF World Championships will take place from August 22 through August 28, 2022, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. All competitors will be inspired to perform well and earn the highly wanted gold medal due to the event’s rich history and reputation.
24th August: Second-round matches will begin (5:30 AM IST)

2022 BWF World Championships Women’s Singles Day 2 Results, Score, And Winners
Saina Nehwal, the bronze-medal-winning shuttler from the London Olympics, defeated Hong Kong’s Cheung Ngan Yi in straight games on Tuesday to begin her BWF World Championships campaign. Former world number one Saina defeated Ngan Yi in the first round in 38 minutes with a score of 21-19, 21-9.
Carolina Marn won in straight sets (21-16, 21-14) against Canadian Wen Yu Zhan to start her BWF World Championships campaign. In the round of 16, Marin will compete against China’s Bing Jiao, who she has met seven times and defeated six times. Akane Yamaguchi, meanwhile, started off her women’s singles title defense at the BWF World Championships in impressive fashion by defeating Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 21-12, 21-15.
Yamaguchi, this year’s All England Open Badminton Champion, will play fellow countrywoman Sayaka Takahashi, who is seeded fourteenth, in the third round. In an earlier match, Takahashi overcame a game behind to defeat Kim Ga Eun of South Korea 9-21, 21-16, 21-13.
