2023 Thailand Open day 2 schedule, date, venue, fixtures, & second-round draw
To qualify for the second-round at the 2023 Thailand Open, Indian youngster Lakshya Sen defeated Taiwanese shuttler Wang T-w by score of 21-23, 21-15, 21-15 after an intense contest. However, PV Sindhu lost against Michelle Li by score of 8-21, 21-18, 18-21 in the opening round and hence, crashed out from the competition. It is confirmed that Lakshya will face-off against fourth-seed Li Shifeng in the next round with a spot in the quarterfinal at stake. Similarly, Saina Nehwal will clash against third-seed He Bingjiao in the second-round.
In another match of Wednesday, Ashmita Chaliha emerged victorious against compatriot Malvika Bansod and sealed her berth in the second-round, where she will clash against fourth-seed Carolina Marin. Meanwhile, Indian prodigy Priyanshu Rajawat was eliminated from the competition after losing against Malaysian star shuttler Ng Tze Yong.

2023 Thailand Open: prize money distribution
Because the Thailand Open is a BWF Super 500 event, each singles champion will get $31,500 from the $420,000 total prize fund. Each singles runner-up will receive $15,960, while the losers of the singles category semi-final will only receive $6,090. It’s expected that the first-round losers of this competition will receive no prize money and hence, PV Sindhu will return home empty-handed.
