The 2022 Swiss Open will be the sixth competition on the BWF World Tour, and it will be part of the Swiss Open championships, which have been held annually since 1955. The Swiss Badminton Federation is organising the event, which is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation.
Viktor Axelsen from Denmark is the defending champion in Men’s Singles category of BWF Swiss Open Badminton after having won the 2021 edition. However, he announced his withdrawal from the tournament before his second-round match against P Kashyap.

Prannoy defeated Indonesia’s world number five Anthony Sinisuka Ginting 21-19, 19-21, 21-18 in the BWF Swiss Open semi-finals to qualify for his first title match in five years. Prannoy will face Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in the men’s singles final on Sunday, which will be his first final since his win in the US Open 2017.
Fourth seed Jonatan Christie defeated India’s Kidambi Srikanth in the semi-final with a score of 18-21, 21-7, 21-4. Christie will be the heavy favorite to win the final on Sunday against Prannoy.
