The Singapore Indoor Stadium will host the $370,000 Singapore Open badminton tournament from July 12 to July 17 in 2022. The famous international competition is being held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium where on Sunday, all final matches of doubles category will be decided.

Today’s mixed doubles semifinal loss by Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai put an end to Malaysia’s involvement in the Singapore Open. The 2018 champions, who have yet to claim an Open championship this year, competed valiantly despite falling to Thailand’s world No. 2 Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Sapsiree Taerattanachai by scores of 21-17, 16-21, and 22-20.
The current world champions from Thailand will face China’s Wang Yi Lyu-Huang Dong Ping in the final tomorrow. Since their appearance in the semifinals of the Korea Masters in April, Soon Huat and Shevon duo’s performance at the Singapore Open has been among their better ones this year.

Points Award System
The BWF scoring system was used to allocate points for each round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition. The winners in the Doubles category competition receive 9,200 BWF points, while the losers receive 7,800. When the awards are distributed in accordance with BWF rules, the total prize pool for the 2022 Singapore Open will be US$370,000. The winning doubles duo will collect $29,230 in prize money, while the losing doubles team will take home $14,060.
