Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai, the No. 15 team in the world, are motivated to defeat their Hong Kong rivals Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet in the quarterfinal. The pair defeated Indonesia’s Rinov Rivaldy-Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, last week’s Malaysia Masters finalists with a score of 10-21, 21-18, 21-10, in the last 16 at Singapore Open. The duo of Soon Huat and Shevon set up a match with the two-time World Championships bronze medalists in the last eight.
Meanwhile, with a victory of 21-12, 21-6 in the women’s doubles match, China’s sixth seed Li Wen Mei and Du Yue put an end to Pooja Dandu and Arathi Sara Sunil’s participation in the competition.

Points Award System
The BWF scoring system was used to determine how many points should be given for each round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition. The winners of the Doubles category tournament receive 9,200 BWF points, while the losers receive 7,800. The enormous number of points up for grabs will undoubtedly inspire competitors who want to move up in the BWF World Rankings.
