Olympic badminton champion Viktor Axelsen qualified for the 2022 Malaysia Open semifinals with a victory over Indonesian Anthony Sinisuka Ginting on Friday. The sixth seed in the competition was defeated by the World No. 1 in nearly an hour with a score of 18-21, 21-17, 21-12 as Axelsen extended his winning streak on the tour to 29 games. On Saturday, Axelsen will take on Jonatan Christie after the Indonesian overcame HS Prannoy of India and defeated the Indian ace in straight sets with a score of 21-18, 21-16.

The BWF World Tour Super 750 competition’s point distribution for each round was determined using the BWF scoring system. The winner of the men’s singles competition receives 11,000 BWF points, while the runner-up earns 9,300 points. Competitors wishing to advance in the BWF World Rankings will definitely be motivated by the massive number of points up for grabs.
