On Saturday, Lee Zii Jia qualified for the Malaysia Masters men’s singles final after winning his semi-final tie against Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus by scores of 21-15, 21-17 in a rematch of last weekend’s Thailand Open final. In the final, Lee will face-off against Viktor Axelsen with the title at stake.
In the women’s singles semi-final, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan, with scores of 13-21, 21-16, 21-12. This victory propels Sindhu into her first BWF World Tour final since the Spain Masters in April 2023. In the final, Sindhu will face the second seed, Wang Zhi Yi, who triumphed in an all-China semifinal, overcoming Wang Yi Man with a commanding 21-9, 21-11 win.
