The Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is hosting the 2022 Malaysia Masters, a badminton competition with a US$360,000 total prize pool, from July 5 to July 10, 2022.
7th June: Second-round matches will begin (Starting from 10:00 AM Local Time)

2022 Malaysia Masters Badminton Women’s Singles First Round Results, Fixtures, Players List
In women’s singles 20-year-old shuttling sensation An Se Young of South Korea dispatched American Iris Wang 21-18, 21-13, while Rio 2016 silver medallist PV Sindhu saw off China’s He Bing Jiao in three games with a score of 21-13, 17-21, 21-15. Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, the runner-up for Tokyo 2020, advanced after defeating Sim Yu Jin of Korea 21-11, 21-8. Ratchanok Intanon, the winner of the Malaysia Open, defeated fellow Thai shuttler Busanan Ongbamrunghphan 21-12, 21-13, and had an effortless debut.
Malaysia Masters top-seed and reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi of Japan defeated Michelle Li of Canada by a score of 21-15, 21-13 in another match, and will now face Wang Zhiyi of China, the 2022 Asian champion.

Points Award System
The BWF scoring system was used to allocate points for each round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition. Winners of the Men’s Singles competition receive 9,200 BWF points, while losers receive 7,800. The enormous number of points up for grabs will undoubtedly inspire competitors hoping to move up the BWF World Rankings.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
When the rewards are paid out in compliance with BWF rules, the 2022 Malaysia Masters will award a total of US$360,000 in prizes. In addition, the singles category winner will get $27,000 in winnings as opposed to the $13,680 prize money for the runner-up.
