Sindhu, who is seeded seventh at the Malaysia Masters, defeated the world’s number 32 opponent with ease. Against Zhang Yi Man of China, Sindhu won the second-round match of the women’s singles competition 21-12, 21-10 in just 28 minutes.

For Sindhu to advance to the quarterfinals, her day at the court was trouble-free. The Indian world No. 7 defeated Zhang Yi Man of China in just 26 minutes in straight sets with a score of 21-12, 21-10, but Tai Tzu Ying will test her much more in the round of eight. The world No. 2 has a comfortable 16-5 record against Indian ace Sindhu and hasn’t lost to her since 2019. Chinese shuttler Wang Zhiyi, who was crowned the champion of Asia in 2022, was defeated by top seed Yamaguchi Akane of Japan with a score of 12-21, 21-13, 21-12.

Points Award System
The BWF World Tour Super 500 competition used the BWF scoring system to determine how many points should be awarded for each round. Men’s Singles champions earn 9,200 BWF points, while losers take home 7,800. Competitors wishing to advance in the BWF World Rankings will definitely be motivated by the massive number of points up for grabs.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
The 2022 Malaysia Masters will distribute a total of US$360,000 in prizes after they are paid out in accordance with BWF regulations. Additionally, the winner of the singles category will get $27,000 in prize money as opposed to the $13,680 awarded to the runner-up.
