After defeating world No. 1 Akane Yamaguchi once more to advance to the Malaysia Masters semifinals, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung was close to win the Super 500 tournament. However, The world No. 31 was defeated by Korean An Seyoung with a score of 18-21, 21-13, 8-21 in 57 minutes and saw the end of her superb run in Malaysia.

2022 Malaysia Masters Badminton Women’s Singles Semi-final Results, Fixtures, Players List
In the women’s singles final of Malaysia Masters, China’s Chen Yu Fei, the current Olympic champion, will compete against South Korea’s An Se Young in an effort to defend the title she earned in 2020. Following her semi-final victory at the Malaysia Open last week, world No. 3 Yu Fei defeated world No. 2 Tai Tzu Ying yesterday 21-13, 23-21 to earn her second victory in as many weeks. After winning in the semi-final with a score of 21-18, 13-21, 21-8, world No. 4 Se Young put an end to Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung’s valiant run.
Despite winning all seven of their meetings with Se Young, Yu Fei, who is competing in her sixth final of the year, is not taking anything for granted. After winning the Korea Open in April, Se Young is aiming for her second championship of the year.

2022 Malaysia Masters Badminton Women’s Singles Final Schedule
According to the bookmakers, the Women’s Singles final between An Seyoung and Chen Yufei will be a close contest since there isn’t much gap between the technical ability, world ranking and form of the amazing players. Currently, the winning odds of Chen Yufei is 1.37 while her opponent An Seyoung’s winning odds are 2.95 so the Chinese shuttler appears to have an edge in the match owing to her one-sided advantage in terms of head-to-head record.

The BWF World Tour Super 500 competition’s point allocation for each round was determined using the BWF scoring system. Men’s Singles champions earn 9,200 BWF points, while losers take home 7,800. Competitors who wish to advance in the BWF World Rankings will definitely be motivated by the massive number of points up for grabs.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
The entire value of the prizes for the 2022 Malaysia Masters, after they have been distributed in compliance with BWF regulations, is US$360,000. Furthermore, the winner of the singles category will earn a prize of $27,000 as compared to the runner-up, who would receive $13,680.
