The ongoing Malaysia Masters 2022 saw Indian shuttler HS Prannoy advance to the semifinals on Friday. Kanta Tsuneyama of Japan was stunned by Prannoy in straight sets with scores of 25-23, 22-20.

On Friday, HS Prannoy outdueled Kanta Tsuneyama of Japan to advance to the semifinals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 competition. In the 60-minute quarterfinal match, which ebbed and flowed throughout, Prannoy, a former top-10 player, maintained his streak of consistency and weathered the storm against world number 14 Tsuneyama to emerge victorious 25-23 22-20.
Prannoy, one of the heroes of India’s historic Thomas Cup victory in May, will compete against eighth-seeded NG Ka Long Angus of Hong Kong in the semifinals.

Points Award System
The BWF World Tour Super 500 competition used the BWF scoring system to determine how many points should be awarded for each round. Men’s Singles champions earn 9,200 BWF points, while losers take home 7,800. Competitors wishing to advance in the BWF World Rankings will definitely be motivated by the massive number of points up for grabs.
