For Wardoyo, who has been in superb form this season, a victory of this magnitude seemed inevitable. At the Badminton Asia Championships in May, the 24-year-old made a splash by defeating four of the best players his way to the semifinals.
An Se Young of South Korea defeated Chen Yu Fei of China in the women’s singles championship match 21-17, 21-5. Se Young, who also won the Korea Open in April, had lost his previous seven matches against Yu Fei, who is ranked third in the world.
Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan of China defeated Nami Matsuyma and Chiharu Shida of Japan. winning the women’s doubles match 21-11, 21-12. The BWF scoring system was used to determine how many points should be given for each round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition. The winners of each competition are awarded 9,200 BWF points, while the losers are awarded 7,800 BWF points.
