The 2022 Korea Open will be the eighth tournament on the BWF World Tour, and it will be hosted in conjunction with the Korea Open championships, which have been held since 1991. The Badminton Korea Association is hosting this competition, which is sanctioned by the BWF.

In the second round of the 2022 BWF Korea Open, world number seven Sindhu defeated world number 26 Aya Ohori, 21-15 21-10. The third-seeded Indian will play Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the quarterfinal, whom she defeated in the Swiss Open final last month.
Malvika Bansod, the country’s other rising star, was knocked out in the second round of the women’s singles competition by Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong 8-21 14-21 in a match that lasted 39 minutes.
