The 2022 Korea Open will be the eighth tournament on the BWF World Tour, and it will be hosted in conjunction with the Korea Open championships, which have been held since 1991. The Badminton Korea Association is hosting this competition, which is sanctioned by the BWF.

Srikanth and Christie met in the men’s singles semi-final with an even head-to-head record of winning four matches each in their previous eight meetings, with the Indian falling in the semifinals of the Swiss Open last month. Srikanth, the silver medalist in the World Championships, lost the clash against Asian Games champion Jonatan Christie, losing 19-21 16-21 in 50 minutes.
In the other semi-final, Chinese shuttler H. Weng defeated V. Svendsen in straight sets with a score of 22-20 and 21-13. With this win, Weng advanced to the final of 2022 BWF Korea Open men’s singles, where he will face Jonatan Christie for the title.
